After studying Music and Music Technology at college in 2005 and receiving an unconditional offer to study at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, Jonny went on to session for Sony BMG's newly signed artist, Lil Chris, playing guitar and keys on tour across the UK and appearing on promotional TV shows and radio, such as Popworld, Blue Peter and BBC Radio 1's Live Lounge.
During this time Jonny was also co-writing, recording, co-producing and performing music with his own band fiN. With a keen interest in music Jonny played a key role in the recording, production and editing process of what was to become fiN's debut album 'Life Is Wasted on the Living'. With an independent approach to the whole campaign, the album was recorded in a number of locations. One of which included his mothers' dining room and was where a passion for recording and producing music was fuelled.
In 2012 Jonny co-founded independent record label 'Artisan Records' and touring company 'Theft Is Art' with the members fiN and in 2013 fiN released their debut album worldwide. The album reached the top 10 on the iTunes rock chart in the first week of release. The band toured across Europe and America performing in venues with capacities of up to 20,000 people supporting major acts like Muse, Incubus, Feeder, Cage The Elephant, The Kooks, Inme, Nickelback, The Rasmus, and also performed on festivals stages at Glastonbury, SXSW and more.
Jonny also sessioned for Rihanna in 2012 performing alongside her at her Brit Awards performance of worldwide hit 'We Found Love ft. Calvin Harris'.
In 2013 fiN set to work on their second album recording all of it at Jonny's co-owned newly built recording studio in Surrey. A small bespoke studio designed and built by his brother Sam and hidden away in the suburbs where artists can come, relax and focus on their creativity and capturing their full potential. A great location that over the years has been used to record bands, string quartets, voice overs, song writing sessions, relaxation music and more.
Jonny set up a new production project in 2014 with a song writing partner and continued to explore new processes of creating and recording music. The project incorporated writing and producing music and auditioning talented singers to perform on the songs and subsequently led on to filming, directing and producing music videos.
With over 12 years of experience working on both the creative and the business sides of the music industry, Jonny has learnt a good deal along the way and enjoys the continued challenge music brings in all its forms.
Jonny is now venturing into the wider world of composing production music and writing music to film and TV whilst continuing to produce, perform and record at his studio and session for upcoming artists.
